Pride March with CMA

Flux Flow and the Columbus Museum of Art are collaborating for the Pride march this year!

CMA has invited Flux Flow to create a traveling performance celebrating queer joy, self-actualization, and the power of community. We will be honoring the history of pride and its continuing relevance as a form of advocacy and unapologetic visibility. And we want you to be a part of it!!

Performers will commit to two 3-hour rehearsals ahead of the march to learn movements and develop the performance concept. Beyond these rehearsals, participants will be creating their own costumes inspired by images from CMA’s “Art After Stonewall” exhibit and historical images from past pride parades in Columbus and beyond. Who can perform? Absolutely anyone! No dance experience is required and you are welcome to participate with the whole family—all ages welcome.

Rehearsals:

Monday June 2nd 6-9pm

Monday June 9th 6-9pm

Pride March June 14th time tbd (think all day 😉)

* rehearsal's location and dates are subject to change

Want to march with us but not interested in performing? We’re seeking volunteers to pass out materials and support the performers along the way. Volunteers will be provided T-shirts by the Columbus Museum of Art featuring the designs of Columbus-based queer artist Mitch Vicieux. Please email us directly at info@flux-flow.com to participate in this way.

Participating is Free! Let’s celebrate!
