If hands-on adjustments from a teacher during the final resting pose are your favorite part ofa yoga class, this is the class for you! Join Kami Niehoff and Anne Reilly (both licensed massage therapists and certified yoga instructors) for a 2-hour combination restorative yoga and Thai massage class. Thai massage (which refers to a traditional massage style done in Thailand) is characterized by compression of the muscles, joint range of motion, stretching, and thumbing of the sen lines of the body (similar to meridians in Chinese medicine) to relieve tension and allow for freedom of movement in the muscles, joints, and fascia. Thai massage will be incorporated into each of the restorative poses throughout the class.
Class size is limited to 10 people to ensure lots of personal attention and hands-on time.
No previous yoga experience is required for this class, but please be healthy enough to tolerate both broad and specific pressure on your body, and movement of your joints through their normal range of motion.
Anne Reilly has taught yin and restorative yoga at various studios and in corporate settings since 2014. She has been a licensed massage therapist since 2015 and has her own practice in Upper Arlington. In both yoga and massage, she loves helping create space for people to slow down, breathe and find stillness in the middle of their busy lives. When not teaching or taking yoga classes, you can find her in a kickboxing class, spending time outdoors in one of the Metro Parks, or plotting her next travel adventure.
Kami Niehoff has been a Yoga Instructor and Yoga For The Special Child Practitioner for 14 years, and a Licensed Massage Therapist for 8 years. She loves helping people by offering them self-care tools that she has learned along the way in this life journey. She lives in Clintonville and with her wonderful husband, a pup named Birdie and her crazy cat Teeny.
