Introduction to Tango with Eric Mehl

  • Flux + Flow 200 Crestview Road Columbus, OH, 43202 United States (map)

This is an exploration of the most  iconic partner dance that uses sequences which emphasize core connection, elasticity, and intention.  This dance constantly engages the balance between partners where no one person has ascendancy.  We will explore weight changes and body shifts while maintaining your own balance along with a partner.  We will touch elements such as being grounded and fulfilling full movement between a count has a basis in other dance forms.  You will be doing everything in tandem while being sensitive to a partners’ balance, size, weight and capacity.  This dance gives pause to think that at every moment you are viably connected to another person while moving within a choreography.  This is a new way to reinterpret dancing skills, and for both novice and advanced dancers can share the ability for learning and dancing as partners.

Please wear either jazz shoes, jazz sneakers or anything that allows ease in pivoting.

The cost is $20 for one person and $30 if you bring a partner ( couple discount not available online ) Please feel free to contact us to sign in as a couple or for any other clarification.
